A large and very decorative painting of a young girl and her faithful dog against a wintery backdrop. The girl is dressed in a striking red coat with matching red hat and a fur muff. The style of the dress dates the painting to the late 19th / early 20th Century. There looks to be a faint monogram signature in the bottom left corner, resembling TJ, but the artist is unknown.
The painting is well executed with lots of detail and the large size will make a real statement. It is in a good quality carved wood and gesso gilded frame.
The painting is in very good condition and has been re-lined at some point. It has been lightly cleaned and is free from any major damages. The frame has been lightly cleaned and is in good order with a few small knocks and minor losses but nothing detrimental.
