A fabulous example of an original antique rocking horse. It was manufactured by Lines Bros in the 1930s and is their 'Sportiboy' model. It has been in the same family since new and underwent a full sympathetic restoration about 10 years ago.
It has lovely dapple markings and a full mane and tail. It has leather tack and a padded saddle with red and gold edged blanket below. It is set on a pitch pine base with turned columns and metal supports.
The horse is in excellent condition for its age and displays very well. It still has a wonderful patina and looks as though he has been well loved for many years. There are some minor signs of minor age and wear but nothing detrimental or untoward. The base has some general knocks and marks but no major damages and it is sturdy and structurally sound.
The base is 44" (112cm) long and 15" (38cm) wide and the horse stands 38" (96cm) tall to the tip of his ears.
