Product Details

A large oak bureau dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It has a sloped front above four drawers, each with their original brass plate handles and matching escutcheons. Two pulls support the front which opens to reveal a series of small pigeon holes, drawers and a small cupboard. There are two concealed drawers hidden behind the blind fretwork borders above the pigeon holes and there is a further secret drawers hidden behind the central cupboard. The internal cupboard and the sloped front both come with their original working keys.

It is in very good condition for its age and the oak has developed a lovely rich colour over the years. There are general signs of age and use, some old knocks, marks, small splits and a few small repairs but no major damages and the piece is strong and sturdy. The interior is in good condition with a few old surface marks and stains but nothing detrimental. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
