A large and impressive Victorian silver baluster hot water jug, embossed with Scottish highland scenes with figures, hunting dogs and game birds. The handle is modelled in a naturalistic style to resemble the branch of a tree adorned with oak leaves.
It is clearly hallmarked on the base for London, 1881 and the maker Charles Edwards. It weighs approximately 1162g.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are some very minor signs of age and use and some faint surface marks but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
