A fine example of a large solid silver salver dish with Chippendale style wavy rim with shell motifs. The surface is embellished with a broad band of bright cut scrolling acanthus leaf engraved decoration and it stands on four scrolling feet. It is a stylish and good quality piece, weighing approximately 3812g.
It is clearly hallmarked for London, 1896 and the maker Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some very faint surface marks and light scratches and a very small dink on the reverse but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
