A large giltwood overmantel mirror dating from the mid 19th Century. It is a simple arch-top design with decorative scrolling corbels at the base. The gilt frame is in good condition and it has its original glass and a good quality wood panelled back.
It is in very good condition for its age and displays beautifully. There are some very minor knocks and small losses around the edges of the mirror frame but nothing untoward. The gilding is bright and vibrant and the glass has worn attractively in places giving a lovely patina without being detrimental to the mirror. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for use.
