A large good quality and very decorative oil painting of John Snare dating from the mid-19th Century. It is a half-length seated portrait and is painted on canvas. It is framed in a gilt frame.
It measures approximately 41" (104cm) high x 33" (84cm) wide including the frame.
The painting is in good original condition. There are signs of age, some surface marks and some slight crackling of the varnish in places but overall it displays well. There are some losses and small damages around the frame but the gilding is bright and it has a good look. The painting has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
