A large antique mirror dating from the mid 19th Century. The frame is carved wood and gesso with ornate corner pieces and a scrolling border. It has its original mercury mirror plate and pine backboards. It could be used either landscape or portrait.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. The gilded frame is in good condition with just some very minor losses and small damages around the edges. It has been repainted at some point but it is bright and clean and displays well. There is some wear on the mirror plate and some minor marks and spotting but nothing untoward. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready for use.
