A superb 19th Century pine curved high back Bacon Settle with shaped arms. It is in excellent original condition, having been recently removed from a country pub in Dorset. The panelled doors open to reveal a large cupboard inside the back of the settle complete with its original metal hooks, once used for hanging game or bacon. It has a thick seat with a central supporting leg and wing shaped arms, typical of a Westcountry design. It is exceptionally original with its original painted finish both inside and outside and its original working key for the door.
It is in very condition for its age and has a wonderful look. There are signs of age and wear and the paint has worn in places and there are general small knocks and marks around the base but nothing major. There is a small chip along the back of the top cornice which isn't detrimental. The whole piece has been cleaned and given a light wax and is ready for use.
