Superb example of an early 20th Century floorstanding classroom abacus. It is wooden framed and set on a cast iron base. There are 10 rows of 10 wooden counters. The metal base is stamped "Education Supply Assc. Ltd. Holborn Viaduct".
It is a charming piece full of history that has developed a lovely aged patina over the years. It is sturdy and in good condition with all counters present. There are no major damages and just one round wooden plug missing from the front of the frame (see photo). There are some small pin holes in the frame which look like tacs have been stuck there over the years but it adds some character and I don't think its detrimental to the piece.
