Product Details

A large Victorian dresser base dating from the mid 19th Century. It has the most superb 1 1/4" thick sycamore top with a wonderful patina. The rest of the base is made from pine with 6 graduated drawers flanking a central shelved cupboard and it stands on bun feet. It is a well made piece with attractive gothic style arched mouldings on the doors and sides and raised moulded edges on the drawers. It is a large size and particularly deep with great country house kitchen proportions.

It is in good condition for its age is strong and sturdy. There are plenty of signs of age and use, various marks and stains in the top surface and signs of old woodworm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the dresser structurally or aesthetically. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well, having had the runners recently repaired. There have been some old repairs and the handles and feet have been replaced at some point but overall it displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and given a gentle wax and polish and is ready for the home.
