A lovely antique pine pew dating from the late 19th Century. It is an unusual Gothic style with x-frame ends leading into curving sides and a straight back support. The seat is solid pitch pine and it has a rear foot rest from when it would have been in rows in a church. The unusual design means that you can slide onto the bench from the ends - making it perfect for use at a table or a narrow hallway.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy with a nice colour and patina. There are some signs of age and use and some faint old graffiti scratchings on the rear of the back support but no major damages or anything detrimental and it displays well.
