L. Corsi, 1875
"Three Spinners", watercolour on Ivory
A magnificent watercolour on ivory of three spinners (probably an allegory of life) possibly after Durer.
The quality of painting is quite exceptional. Signed to the bottom right L Corsi 7 1875. Perhaps the 7 relates to one of a series. The miniature is set into a beautiful ormolu frame of equally exceptional quality with fire or mercury gilt ormolu with beading to the inner edge, milling to the center and herringbone to the outside edge.
