A lovely example of a large sterling silver berry spoon. It has a long handle and is beautifully decorated with repousse work flowers and engraved detail. The handle has more finely engraved decoration and a small armorial crest in the form of a swan engraved on the tip. It is excellent quality and weighs approximately 71g.
It measures approximately 9" (23cm) long and the spoon itself is 2" (5cm) wide x 3" (8cm) long.
It is hallmarked for Dublin, 1837 and the maker Robert & John Gray. The mark is slightly rubbed but still readable.
It is in excellent condition for its age. There are no major damages and it displays beautifully. There are some faint surface scratches and a few light marks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
