A good example of a large 5 Gallon copper jug dating from the mid 19th Century. It is good quality with its original lead excise duty stamps dating from the period and it is marked "Imperial 5".
It is in good original condition and displays well. There are lots of signs of age and use, some dents, dinks and surface marks and wear around the bottom rim but nothing untoward and no major damages. It has been lightly cleaned and polished to retain its wonderful aged patina and is ready for use.
