A fabulous Regency mahogany chest of drawers of monumental size, dating from the early 19th Century. It has 4 short over 4 long drawers, each with brass knobs, and it stands on sweeping bracket feet. The bottom two knobs are slightly different to the rest but don't stand out.
It is a good quality piece and the mahogany is a lovely rich colour.
The chest is in good original condition. Each drawer is generally clean and tidy and opens smoothly. There are of course signs of age and use, some minor knocks, marks and surface scratches and a few old veneer repairs around the drawers but nothing detrimental. There has been a historic repair to the front foot but the chest is strong and sturdy and displays beautifully. They have been cleaned and lightly polished and are ready for use.
