A good quality Georgian armchair dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It is a nice country example made from oak with a lovely patina. It has a drop-in upholstered seat pad and it stands on square legs below a nicely shaped apron. It has nicely shaped arms and a high back with pierced splats.
The chair is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are some minor signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks here and there and a couple of small losses to the apron but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
The chair is a good size and comfortable to sit in. It is approximately 43" (109cm) high and is 22" (56cm) wide across the arms. It is 16" (41cm) deep and the seat is approximately 18" (46cm) high to the top of the cushion pad.
