A superb set of antique balance beam scales dating from the early 19th Century. The beam is steel and the pans are made of brass suspended by thick green cord. They also come with a set of various small antique brass weights.
The scales come in their original wooden box with a metal catch to keep them closed.
The whole set is in good condition and displays very nicely. The box has a few small knocks and marks as to be expected. The scales have tarnished over time and there are signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. T
he whole set has been cleaned and lightly polished and are ready for display.
