A good Georgian style wingback armchair dating from the late 20th Century. It has traditional raised shaped wing sides, scrolling arms and it stands on carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet. It is a very comfortable chair with good large proportions.
The chair is upholstered in a good quality William Morris style blue fabric that compliments the chair well.
The chair is in good overall condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few general marks and small knocks around the legs but nothing detrimental. The upholstery is not new and there are light signs of wear and use and some fading and discolouration on the fabric but nothing untoward. It looks clean and fresh and is perfectly usable as it is or will serve as a good solid frame for recovering.
The chair stands approximately 44" (112cm) high, 30" (76cm) deep and arm to arm the chair is 31" (79cm) wide. The seat is 19" (49cm) deep and 18 1/2" (47cm) high.
