A fine example of a large six division Sterling Silver toast rack. It is a stylish good quality piece with a loop carrying handle and it stands on four small feet. It is clearly hallmarked for William Bateman, London, 1816.
It is in good condition and displays well. There have been some small repairs over the years and small traces of silver solder. There are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and some of the arches are slightly bent but this can be forgiven, given its age. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
