Product Details

A good example of a Sterling Silver milk or cream jug. It is an elegant design with a beautifully shaped handle, elongated pouring spout and four small bun feet. It has a gadrooned rim and the main body is profusely decorated with floral decoration. There is a cartouche on both sides, one of which is engraved with a presentation message "as a token of grateful remembrance for their many and highly valued kindness" which is dated 1870.

The jug is good quality, weighing approximately 137g, and is hallmarked for John Henry & Charles Lias, London, 1827. The mark is slightly rubbed but still readable.

It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks, small dinks and minor signs of age and use but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
