A good example of an antique Sterling Silver milk or cream jug. It is an elegant design with a beautifully shaped handle, round foot and elongated spout. The jug is stylish and good quality with a shield shaped cartouche on the front and it weighs approximately 129g.
The hallmark is slightly rubbed and I cannot distinguish the maker but I can see clearly that it is marked for London 1821. It is marked on the underneath "A P" with a broad arrow so could have possibly once belonged to somebody in the military.
It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks and light signs of age and use and a small dink in the handle but nothing detrimental and it still displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
