A fine example of a Scottish silver hot water jug. It is an elegant shape with its original leather covered handle and beautiful greek key decoration around the middle with further foliate decoration on the bottom. It is good quality, weighing a total of 571g.
It is clearly hallmarked on the underside for Edinburgh, 1805 and the maker John Mcdonald.

It is in good condition for its age and displays beautifully. The leather handle has worn in places and there are signs of age and use and some general light surface marks but no major dents or damages.
