A good example of a period oak dresser dating from the early 19th century. The base has three drawers standing on turned legs with block feet and an open potboard base. The drawers have brass plate handles which, although are not original, suit the piece well. The rack has three shelves with grooves for supporting plates. It has its original boards and many of its original hooks.
It is in good condition throughout and is a good quality piece. It is not without signs of age and use but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are some old marks and stains on the top surface and general minor knocks but no major damages. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well. There have been a few small repairs including some patches to the back boards but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for the home.
