Product Details

A good example of a period oak dresser dating from the early 19th century. The base has three drawers standing on turned legs with block feet and an open potboard base. It has its original plate rack with 2 open shelves and grooves for supporting plates. The drawers have brass plate handles which, although are not original, suit the piece well.

It is a good piece with a beautiful patina and some nice detail such as carved fan shaped corner pieces on the legs, nicely shaped sides on the plate rack and a row of blacksmith made hooks along the top.

It is in good condition throughout and displays beautifully. It is not without some signs of age and use and some light marks and stains on the top surface but this has all helped to develop a lovely rich patina over the years. There are some signs of historic worm which has all been treated as a precaution and the back of the plate rack has some chips and minor splits but it is still strong and sturdy. The drawers are clean and tidy inside and all open well. It has been given a thorough clean and gentle polish and is ready for the use.
