Product Details

A good example of a Welsh oak dresser dating from the late 18th / early 19th century. The base has an unusual arrangement of five drawers above an open potboard base. It has its original plate rack with 3 open shelves with grooves for standing up plates and many of its original blacksmith made hooks. The drawers have brass plate handles which, although aren't original, suit the piece well. The dresser stands on block feet and is a lovely quality piece with nicely shaped fretwork detail around the base and the top of the plate rack.

It is in good original condition throughout and is strong and sturdy. It is not without some signs of age and use and some light marks and old stains on the surface but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open smoothly. It has been given a clean and gentle polish and is ready for use.
