A large Georgian oak Settle dating from the late 18th century. It has a panelled back with beautifully shaped mahogany panels. It has large shaped arms and it stands on cabriole legs with pad feet. The seat itself has a webbed base with fabric covering. It comes with a well made fitted cushion with zip cover in an attractive floral design.
It is a lovely quality piece with a wonderful patina and the rear of the settle is nicely finished meaning it would be suitable for use in a room or against a wall.
The settle is in good condition and displays well. There are of course signs of age and use and small knocks and marks but no major damages or anything detrimental. The cover is clean and tidy. There have been some historic repairs and restorations but the whole piece is strong and sturdy and ready for use.
