A beautiful oak dresser base dating from the late 18th century. It has a planked top with two drawers below, each with large brass plate handles. It stands on turned front legs and square rear legs, each joined by square stretchers. The apron below the drawers is nicely shaped and the whole piece is very good quality with lots of character.
It is in good condition throughout. It is not without some signs of age and use and some light marks and old stains on the surface but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. There are some minor old shrinkage splits on the top but the whole piece is strong and sturdy. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open smoothly. It has been given a clean and gentle polish and is ready for use.
