A superb large Georgian oak dresser base dating from the late 18th Century. It has three drawers above two cupboard doors and a central panel. The drawers have brass plate handles and matching escutcheons which, although are not original, have been on the piece some time and suit it well. The cupboards both come with working keys and open to reveal a shelved interior.
It is a good quality piece with panelled sides, a plinth base and its original boarded back. The top has a lovely colour and patina with a small plate rack strip on the back. There are small plugged holes where a rack was fixed at some point but this is not very noticeable and doesn't detract from the piece.
It is in good condition for its age. It is generally clean and tidy inside and is strong and sturdy. There is an old repair to the hinge of one door and a few other old repairs but nothing untoward. There are some minor signs of age and use but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and given a gentle wax and polish and is ready for use.
