Product Details

A superb large Georgian oak dresser base dating from the mid to late 18th Century. It has three central graduated drawers flanked by two cupboards with removable shelves. It has all original brassware with lovely swan neck handles on the drawers and brass handles on the cupboards. It is a stylish and well made piece with attractive fluted columns on the edges of the base and between the cupboards and drawers. The sides are panelled and the doors have nice arched panelling.

It is in good condition for its age. It is generally clean and tidy inside and is strong and sturdy. There are some period repairs including a blacksmith made bracket for the inside of the door. There are signs of age and use and some signs of old woodworm which have all been treated as a precaution and haven't affected the dresser structurally or aesthetically. The top has shrunk slightly leaving a small split between the main plank and the back plank but it isn't detrimental. There are no other major damages and it displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and given a gentle wax and polish and is ready for the home.
