A superb oak lowboy dating from the late 18th century with crossbanded detail. It stands on square chamfered legs with one long over two short drawers. Each drawer is crossbanded with a pierced brass plate handle and there is a wonderful shaped frieze below the drawers. The handles are not original but are in keeping with the period and have certainly been on there a long time.
It is in good original condition with a beautiful rich patina. The table is strong and sturdy and the drawers open well. There are some signs of age and use, a few marks on the top, some old repaired splits and some minor chips and losses around the drawers and crossbanded edge but nothing detrimental and it is a good honest table.
