A lovely small needlework sampler, sewn by Mary Brown in 1811. It shows the Alphabet and the numbers 1 - 17 all carefully sewn in rows and there are also some pretty stitched animals and flowers at the bottom by her name.
It has been framed in a good quality ebonised wooden frame with a gilt slip.
It is in good condition for its age and is very decorative. The colours have faded slightly over time but there are no major damages and it displays well. There are a couple of small knocks around the frame but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
