Product Details

A fine example of an early 19th Century sarcophagus shaped Tea Caddy. It is made from mahogany with a beautiful colour and grain and it has brass lions head handles on the sides. It comes complete with its original cut glass mixing bowl and pair of wooden lidded tea canisters. The inside of the box is lined with beautiful satinwood and inlaid borders.

It is in very good condition for its age. The inside is clean and tidy and the exterior has a rich patina. It is complete and the glass bowl is undamaged with a lovely ring to it. There are some small signs of wear and age, a small chip on the back corner and some small chips around the lid of one canister. The small handles on the canister lids have also been replaced at some point but overall it displays beautifully.
