A fine example of an early 19th Century Georgian knife box. It is made from mahogany with an inlaid marquetry shell panel and is an attractive serpentine shape with small ogee bracket feet. The interior is fully fitted with the original knife compartments and an inlaid marquetry star under the lid.
It is in good condition for its age. It has a beautiful colour and grain and the inside is clean and tidy. There are signs of wear and age, some old repairs and old shrinkage splits and other minor marks but no major damages or anything detrimental. We do not have a key.
