A fine example of an early 19th Century Georgian knife box. It is made from mahogany with a beautiful flame grain. It is an attractive serpentine shape with a brass ring pull handle on the top and brass carrying handles. The interior is fully fitted with the original knife compartments and lined in red velvet with gilt detail.
It is in good condition for its age with a beautiful colour and grain. There are signs of wear and age, some old repairs, minor shrinkage splits and other minor marks and small losses but no major damages or anything detrimental. A couple of the inner dividers are missing from the interior but it still displays well. We do not have a key.
