A good Georgian Chest on Chest dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. The top section has two short over three long drawers and the base contains 3 long drawers, each with pierced brass plate handles. It stands on shaped bracket feet and splits into two parts to make transport easier.
The whole piece is in very good condition. The mahogany has a wonderful rich colour and patina and it has recently been sympathetically restored and repolished. It is sturdy and the drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open well, some with old brown paper linings. A couple of the lower handles are slightly different from the rest but it's hard to spot. There are of course signs of age and use and a few old repairs but nothing detrimental or untoward.
