A good example of a Georgian mahogany brass bound Cellarette. It is octagonal in shape with a hinged lid opening to reveal its original lead lined interior. It has two brass carrying handles and it comes with its original working key. The mahogany stand has four tapering legs and small brass castors.
It is an excellent quality piece and the timbers have a lovely rich colour and patina.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. The interior is generally clean and tidy and would make an excellent practical bottle chiller with a bucket of ice. There are some minor signs of age and use, a few small surface marks and light knocks and a small strip of brass missing on the back of the cellarette but nothing detrimental and there are no major damages. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
