A lovely mahogany chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. They are a good large size with an attractive bow front and they stand on sweeping bracket feet. The drawers have brass ring handles which, although aren't original, suit the piece well. They provide ample storage with two short over three long drawers.
It is in good condition for its age. It has been repolished and has a lovely colour and patina. The oak lined drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are the usual signs of age and use, some minor old marks and knocks and some minor repairs to the veneer around the drawers but nothing untoward. There is an old shrinkage split in the top which has been repaired and strengthened and the chest displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
