Product Details

A good quality Georgian carver chair dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It is made of fruitwood with a square back enclosing delicate carved splats with central roundels. It stands on simple square legs joined by a H-Stretcher and the chair has a drop-in seat pad which has been covered in a good quality blue and white ticking.

The chair has been well used and has developed a lovely rich patina. It has been well looked after and maintained over the years and as such has some good old repairs but it is strong and sturdy. There are some other minor signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks here and there but nothing detrimental. There are also some signs of historic worm which has been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chair structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.

The chair is a good size and comfortable to sit in. It stands approximately 35" (89cm) high and is 21 1/4" (54cm) wide across the arms. It is 21" (53cm) deep and the seat is approximately 17 3/4" (45cm) high to the top of the cushion pad.
