A lovely oak chair dating from the early 19th century. It is a good country piece with shaped arms on ring turned supports and a square back enclosing straight splats. It has a planked seat and stands on square tapering legs joined by stretchers.
It is a comfortable chair with a broad seat and it is in good condition for its age. It has developed a lovely aged patina and the oak has a nice warm colour. There are no major damages. There have been a few old repairs but structurally it is very sound. There are of course signs of age and use and some minor marks and knocks but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
