A beautiful Georgian reading lamp dating from the late 18th / early 19th Century. It has a copper base, raised on four feet, the underneath with the original black painted finish and gilt lining. There are two candle holders in the base and a polished brass reflector shade above to direct the candlelight. The angle of the shade can be adjusted.
It is in good condition for its age. The metal has tarnished over time and has been lightly polished to retain its patina. There are signs of age and use and some minor dinks and dents and surface marks here and there but overall it displays very well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
