ANATOMIE ARTISTIQUE: DESCRIPTION DES FORMES EXTERIEURES DU CORPS HUMAIN AU REPOS ET DANS LES PRINCIPAUX MOUVEMENTS. Paris: 1890.
Paul Richer (1849-1933)
A good example of this first edition folio split into two halves "Planches" - the diagrams and drawings - and the written section. It is a fantastic piece of work and is in remarkably good condition for its age. I believe it is complete and it has even retained the annotated tissue paper covers over some of the diagrams.
The folio is bound in its original hard cover with leather spine and red ties to close it.
There are of course some signs of age and use but mainly on the cover and the title page. The cover has suffered some wear on the spine, some staining, scuffs, marks and small losses around the edges but overall it is strong and sturdy. The title page is frayed around the edges and has some small losses. The vast majority of the actual pages and plates are very clean and largely undamaged.
