Product Details

Lovely Coronation Chair made by Hands of Wycombe in 1977. It is a replica of the Peers Chairs used in Westminster Abbey during the Queen's Coronation. It is chair number 1978. The chair is made of limed oak and is upholstered in blue velvet with gold edging. The royal crest is sewn into the back of the chair and below is "Silver Jubilee 1952-1977". There is a metal plaque on the reverse of the chair stating the maker and provenance etc.

The chair is in excellent condition and has obviously been very well looked after. It is structurally sound and sturdy and the upholstery is generally clean and tidy and the colours are bright. There are some small scuffs around the legs but only very light. The only point to note is that the gauze on the underside of the chair has a small tear in it (see photo).
