Product Details

A lovely mahogany writing desk dating from the early 20th century. It is a good quality piece modelled as a Sheraton style sideboard with two deep drawers and one smaller drawer. It has an attractive bow front and stands on tapering legs with spade feet. It is decorated with lovely cross banding, inlaid stringing and shell fan borders on the larger drawers. The drawers have their original brass ring pull handles and the top has its original inset leather writing surface with tooled edging.

It is a nice compact size, perfect as a side table or a small desk.

It is in very good condition. It is generally clean and tidy throughout and the drawers open well. There are normal signs of light wear and age, a few minor marks and light knocks but nothing detrimental. The writing surface is in good order and showing a nice aged patina with some old marks and stains but no major damages. There is one minor shrinkage split in the top surface but it doesn't concern us. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
