A lovely Edwardian writing desk dating from the early 20th Century. It has a good quality leather writing surface and a raised gallery along the back of the desk with two small drawers flanking a lift up compartment. It has two larger drawers at the front of the desk and it stands on elegant ring turned legs terminating in their original castors. Each drawer has its original art nouveau style brass handles.
It is a good quality piece and the wood has a very pleasant mellow colour having faded in the sun over the years.
The desk is in very good condition for its age and has been well looked after. The drawers open well and are generally clean and tidy. There are some normal signs of age and use, some minor knocks and light surface marks but nothing untoward or detrimental. The desk has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
