A striking ebonised centre table in the Aesthetic Movement taste. It has an octagonal top and stands on four turned legs joined by crossed stretchers with turned rails and a central finial. It has brass castors.
It dates from the late 19th / early 20th Century and is in good condition for its age. It is strong and sturdy with no major damages. It has picked up some signs of age and use over the years and there are some light knocks and marks on the top surface (see photos) and some wear to the painted finish in places. There are some signs of historic worm which has all been treated as a precaution and has not affected the table structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
