Product Details

A fine example of an early Victorian Sterling Silver Christening cup. It stands on an octagonal foot with an elegant scrolling handle and each side is beautifully engraved with a swirling pattern. The front is engraved with initials that look like "H.J.B from E.L". It is stylish and good quality with a gilt interior and it weighs approximately 123g.

It is clearly hallmarked for Henry Wilkinson & Co, Sheffield, 1848. It is also stamped on the bottom "3445".

Approximate Measurements :

Height : 3 1/2" (9cm)

Base Diameter : 2 3/4" (7cm)

Length across Handle : 4" (10cm)

It is in good condition for its age. There are some faint surface marks, some minor dinks and a small dent on the top of the handle (see photo) but nothing detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.
