Product Details

A good example of a small english Oak Coffer dating from the early 18th Century. It has a traditional panelled front and lid with solid sides and it stands on four block feet. The lid opens on ring hinges and inside it has its original candle box. It is generally clean and tidy inside with its original solid floor and it comes with a working key.

It is in good original condition with lots of character and a lovely patina. It has various marks, signs of age and use and slight warping to the back of the lid but no major damages or anything untoward. It has avoided being overcarved and is a very pretty well balanced example. There are signs of historic woodworm which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically.
