A superb set of 37 original road maps dating from the early 20th Century. They are numbered 1-37 and cover the whole of England and Wales. There are also two additional maps detailing Snowdon and The Lake District. They are excellent quality maps backed onto cloth, each with a front and back cover and the colours are bright and vibrant.
The set has been used but the maps are in good condition. Some look practically unused and there is only one, number 11 North Wales, which has had very heavy use (see photo). Of course there are signs of age and use on all the maps, small creases and wear and a few minor holes along some of the fold lines but nothing untoward given they are well over 100 years old.
The maps are stored in their original leather case with leather carrying handle and metal locking latches. The leather case is in good order with a wonderful patina. There is some wear around the edges and it has had some old repairs but it is strong and sturdy and displays well. There aren't any keys.
