Beautiful authentic Coco De Mer polished and carved into a basket. Originating from the Seychelles, the Coco De Mer is the largest seed in the world. It has been skilfully carved and formed into a basket, retaining its beautiful natural shape and patina. The outer edge has been carved with incised criss-cross decoration.
It is in excellent condition. The outer shell is incredibly smooth and there are no cracks, chips or damage and the carving is refined and skilful. The patina is deep and rich and it has retained its natural 'hair' in the crease of the pod which makes it look very organic.
